convert those 2 number into improper fractions to make it easy:
3 2/3 --> 11/3
1 3/4 -->7/4

the new problem is:
11/3 x 7/4

just multiply across now
11/3 x 7/4 = 77/12

im guessing your teacher wants the answer as a mixed number so convert 77/12 into a mixed number:
12 x 6=72 (the whole number is 6)
77-72=5 (5 is the numerator)

answer: 6 5/12

The answer is 6 5/12. You have to find a common denominator and then multiply the fraction. Hope this helps!
