Explain why 1/8 is greater than 1/10 but less than 1/3

1/8 is greater than 1/10 because imagine if you had a chocolate bar would you rather share with 8 or 10 people , the one cut in 10 pieces would have smaller slices that the one cut in to 8. Same thing with 1/8 and 1/3 sharing with 3 people or 8.

If the numerators are consistent (in this case they are all 1), then the larger the denominator, the smaller the overall value, because the whole is being divided into even more, an therefore smaller, parts. 3 < 8 < 10, so 1/3 > 1/8 >1/10
