Answer: 941.33 square inches

Explanation:

Given : The side length of square = 26 inches

Area of square =
(side )^2


=(26)^2=676\text{ square inches}

Also, it given that one side of the square is also the diameter of the semicircle.

i.e. diameter = 26 inches

Radius = half of diameter = 13 inches

Then , the area of the semicircle =
(\pi r^2)/(2)


=((3.14)(13)^2)/(2)=265.33\text{ square inches}

Now, the total area of the banner = Area of square +Area of semicircle


=676\text{ square inches}+265.33\text{ square inches}\\\\=941.33\text{ square inches}

Hence, the total area of the banner= 941.33 square inches
