At what point did the United States become involved in World War II?

The U.S. became involved slowly, first with the Lend-Lease Act and then by aiding British convoys by protecting them from German subs. The final straw was the bombing of Pearl Harbor- only one U.S. Congressman opposed the declaration of war.
