Ok. First you isolate the variable. So Ill take 12 which is posotive, and subtract 12 from the 15 and the 12. Now all were left with is -x=3. We multiply each side by -1 to give us x=-3. Hope this helps!

12-x=15 \\ \\ -x = 15 - 12 \\ \\ -x = 3 \\ \\ x = -3 \\ \\

The final result is: x = -3.
