The correct answer for the question that is being presented above is this one:
x + y = 5
y = one halfx + 2
y = 1/2 x + 2
-1/2 x + y = 2
Eliminate y by subtracting the two equations.
x + y = 5
-1/2 x + y = 2
----------------------
3/2 x = 3
3x = 6
x = 2
x + y = 5
2 + y = 5
y = 5-2
y = 3
So, the answer is (2,3).
