a quadrilateral has exactly 3 congruent sides. Davis claims that the figure must be a rectangle. why is this claim incorrect?

Once the 3 sides of the 4 sides are already equal.

Then it implies that the 4th side would have to be equal to each of the other 3 sides.

Then all 4 sides become equal. That means the quadrilateral is a square.

So Davis' claim of it being a rectangle is incorrect.

If a shape has 3 congruent sides the shape is equilateral triangle. So Davis is incorrect because the quadilateral is not a rectangle but a triangle. Hope it helps!!
