Stone fox and Sara sees red is different because the main character of stone fox, Willy, is determined to finish the race he has joined. Even though at first no one encouraged him to do it, at the middle of the race, when he saw his Grandfather staring and waving at him to go on, he was even more motivated. Unlike for Sara, the main character of Sara sees red, she tried to escape reality by hiking, away from her problem. When she met woman who was pained, she felt that even though how painful the woman was, she tried to ask for help to someone.
