Jean Jacques Rousseau was a philosopher and political writer during the period of Enlightenment and the French Revolution. The was very much inspired by his period and defended the idea of Social Contract, which is a system of government that is formed by the will of people, these people agree to give up certain rights to be protected by a government. Because of that Rousseau believed it was better a government formed freely by people because he believed in people sovereignty.
