Early Christianity grew under the Roman Empire. Initially the Christians were persecuted under the Empire yet it continued to grow and later Constantine the Great gave freedom to the Christian religion and it took root in the Eastern Empire. Judaism later came into conflict with Rome and they were eventually driven out of Israel where they were dispersed to different parts of the world.
