The england were giving colonies bew taxes and laws which caused the colonists to protest and it created a war. The English won after a 9 year war. The 13 colonies had their independence and freedom.

he intended to read the declaration of independence because reading them is a good reminder that the colonists or people should all be created equal. So any government should follow these rights to the people or that government should not exist. And the declaration of independence says that colonists or people have basic rights that cannot be taken away.
