Mandy's square quilt measures 99 inches on each edge. How many yards of trim does she need to buy to go around the entire quilt?

we know that 1 yard equals 36 inches, so we need to know how many yards represent 99 inches, lets use a rule of three:
36 in ------> 1 yd
99 in ------> x

x = (99)(1)/36
x = 2.75
therefore 99 inches equals 2.75 yards and that is the amount of trim that Mandy needs to go around the entire quilt
