It would encourage Europeans to launch campaigns and expeditions to expand travel and trade. Seeing goods that are new to them would spur them to find routes to reach these lands and establish trade relations with them as well learn new things that would benefit their societies.

Trade with China and the Middle East impacted medieval society because this pushed countries mercantilism and economic growth. There was a trade of goods like spices and fabrics like silk. The trade pushed some cities that were in the trade route to become centers like Venice, Florence, and Milan. It also increased the trade of ideas. It helped to spark the age of enlightenment and the Renaissance.
