Back in that time, usually the man who sit in commanders position was a noble born.

But not napoleon, he didint come from nobility class, and he rose through ranks based on his skill and knowledge.And Of course, the man who experienced every corner of military will be a lot better than the nobels who became a commander just because of their family status
