Mass extinction is not caused by recycling - if anything, recycling helps stop it, by reducing pollution and waste. Therefore the correct answer is c.

The other options do contribute to mass extinction by contributing to waste and pollution and in consequence to global warming and to the reduction of habitats in which the species which are under thread live.
