The mass of the boulder is 48567 kg, asking for the metric tonnes is simply asking you for the tonne weight, in general we know that 1000 kg is 1 tonne so 48567x1000=48567000

1 KG = .001 metric tons. Move the decimal point over three to make it 48.567 metric tons.
