Braxton had his ships confiscated by the British. He lost everthing and died pennless. McKeam had to constantly reloavte his family to protect them. Many had their homes vandalized and robbed. Lewis lost all his possessions; his wife was imprisoned, where she died. Stockton also saw his home looted, burned. These men knew they would face great danger to themselves, but believed in a greater cause, the birth of a new country.
