Debussy's Voiles was inspired by a Javanese instrument ensemble called a "Gamelan." Gamelan is a traditional music ensemble of Indonesia, specifically in Bali and Java. Most of the instruments that composed Gamelan are percussion instruments. They also have metallophones that predominantly composed the ensemble.
