So first, as both of the x expressions are equal to y, we can say that:
x^2 + 3= x+ 5
-5] x^2-2=x
-x] x^2-x-2=0
Therefore,
(x-2)(x+1)=0
x= 2,-1 When x=2, y= 2+5=7 When x=-1, y= -1+5=4
y= 7, 4
