!!!!!!!!!! 50 points !!!!!!!!!!!!! You and a friend both got A's on your math tests. You go out to celebration dinner and your food bill is $55. You leave an 18% tip. The sales tax is 8%. What is the total cost, to the nearest cent, of your meal?

percent means parts out of 100 so 18%=18/100=0.18 and 8%=8/100=0.08

there is come contreversey weather to tip on the total then do tax on that or do tax then tip on tax also

I will find the tip of the total then find the tax of the total then add that totottal to find out how much to pay in all

so
tip percent times total+tax percent times total+total
'of' means mutiply
0.18 times total+0.08 times total+total
total=55
0.18 times 55+0.08 times 55+55
9.9+4.4+55
14.3+55
69.3

answer is total pay is $69.30
(if you want to find the amount if you did tax then you tipped on total and tax then answer is $70.09)

answer is $69.30

You can get the tip by doing $55 times 0.18(18%)=$9.9
Tip: $9.90

$55+$9.90=$64.90(with tip, we are not done yet)

0.08*55=4.4 (I am finding out the sales tax)
Sales Tax: 8.00% or $4.40
$4.40(tax)+$9.90(tip)+$55(original price)=$69.30
I added all these numbers because these are
