Two species of bacteria produce different respiratory products. Species A always produces ATP, CO2, & water. Species B always produces ATP, ethyl alcohol, & CO2. Why does this take place?

Species A undergoes aerobic cellular respiration, species B undergoes alcohol fermentation, a form of anaerobic cellular respiration. Species B probably lives in an environment with little access to oxygen, and therefore must undergo anaerobic processes to produce energy
