The Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women, or its acronym CEDAW, is an international treaty signed in 1979 by the United Nations whose purpose is to effectively eliminate discrimination against women throughout the world. Among their roles are:
- Guarantee that the signatory countries of the treaty eliminate all forms of discrimination against women.
- Guarantee equality of rights between men and women of the countries that signed the treaty.
- Create means to guarantee that the signatory countries establish internal mechanisms, such as the creation of laws, for the elimination of any form of discrimination against women.

The United Nations Fund for Children, or UNICEF for short, aims to save children's lives and defend their rights. Among their roles is:
