How do you round 9.66 to the nearest tenth

The 10th position is the 6 right after the dot. The numeral right after the 6 is closer to the next number. So by rounding it, it becomes 9.7 If the digit to the right is 5 or more, you go up a numeral. If it is 4 or less, you keep it at the numeral that it is. If it had been 9.64 then we would have kept it at 9.6 Hope this helps
