The bill of rights written by James Madison is a document that list the limits on the government's power. This effects us today so the citizens of the U.S. have freedom.

The bill of right was used to protect the common rights of the people. Anti-feds were afraid that once we had a constitution, then all there right would be taken away. So we created the bill of rights to insure that no one (even the government) could take their common rights.
