Allan Bakke-- The case of Allan Bakke v. the Regents of the University of California challenged the legality of affirmative action.

The decision from the Bakke case stated affirmative action is constitutional however stated racial quotas were not valid. Bakke argued in the case he was denied admission to University of California medical school because he was discriminated against because he was white.
