Scientists believe CHEMOAUTOTROPHS were the first types of cells able to make their own food.
Chemoautotrophs are organisms that use inorganic energy sources for food, then it creates it own organic compound using ATP. The are primary producers in hostile environments like sea vents where they usually live.
