What is the difference between America and the United States?
Like, isn't Canada America too?

United states is a country. It is independent.

America is a continent, United States and Canada are countries in that continent. The Americas consist of two regions called North America and South America. Countries like Canada and the United States are part of North America; Brazil, Peru, Chile, Argentina, etc. are part of South American.
