My bio class just went over this today haha
gene cloning is made up of 4 steps: isolation, ligation, transformation, and selection. generally, a gene is isolated, forms recombinant DNA, which is then put into an organism.
the polymerase chain reaction, on the other hand, has 3 steps: denaturing, annealing, and extension. DNA is first heated to break bonds between the strands, then cooled and mixed with smaller DNA strands called primers. :)
