Are cell division and binary fission the same thing?

Binary fission is where one cell splits and forms two cells. There are no phases and one cell may have more material than the other. It occurs in one-celled organisms. Cell division occurs after meiosis, consists of 4 phases, and occurs in multi-celled organisms.
