Autism is a severe developmental disability that impairs children's ability to communicate and relate to others. Autism ranges from moderate to severe but is the general classification for a group of disorders in the development of the brain. Because the brain doesn't develop properly and at the correct pace, children's abilities to do many things including communication and relations to others are relatively below normal.
