Advantages to using nonrenewable resources oil and coal are availability and affordability. Harvesting oil and coal causes damages to the environment, and removing them entirely harms Earth's natural processes. Sunlight and electricity are renewable, safe for the environment and abundant, however they take longer to "harvest" and the processes for doing so are not yet perfected.
