Abraham Lincoln is the 16th president of United States and was an American statesman and lawyer. He served as president from March 1861 until his assassination in April 1865. Lincoln led the United States through it's bloody and gory war, Civil War. He paved the way for ending slavery and he preserved the Union. Lincoln was assassinated by John Wilkes Booth at the ford theater on April 14 , 1865.
