What is the equation of the line that passes through the points(-2 2)and (0.5)

(0.5) is not a point. Rewrite this so that you display both the x-coordinate and the y-coordinate.

Supposing that you meant (-2,2) and (0.5, 1), then the slope of the line passing thru these two points would be

1 - 2 -1
m = -------------- = -------- = -4/10 = -2/5
0.5 - (-2) 2.5

Then, using the point-slope formula, the desired equation would be

y-2 = (-2/5)(x-[-2]), or y-2 = (-2/5)(x+2)

First find the slope. then Do the y intercept form inserting the points and you'll get an equation.
