Why might there be so much machine-imagery in bromden's narration?

Because he need to highlight the difference in natural and modern society.
To make it easier for the readers to make mental comparison, he conveys modern society with machine imagery, due to the amount of factories and technologies it created and conveys natural society with Biological/Life-form imageries.
