What triggered a civil war between CCP and Nationalist forces in China?

A. They fought over religious differences.
B. Both sides disagreed on how to handle the Japanese.
C. Nationalists turned on CCP forces.

the answer is C.

Jiang Jieshi launched a political and military offensive, known as the Northern Expedition, it aimed to unify the nation and bring china under the nationalist's control. Near the end of his successful campaign in 1927, Jiang Jieshi brutally and unexpectedly turned against his allies the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) bringing it to a bloody end.

The answer is "C. Nationalists turned on CCP forces".

The Chinese Civil War occurred from 1927 to 1950 an that was a long period of time. CCP stands for Chinese Communist Party while Nationalist were known as Nationalist Kuomintang.
