in your own words, explain the proper use of the comma to seperate elements in a series. Provide a sample sentence to illustrate the rule.

There should be a comma and a space before each item in the list. For example; "I have six apples, fourteen grapes, and six bananas." It should depend on the teacher, whether or not you have to use the comma before "and" and the next object.
