Why do you think the giver believes that knowledge without memories is meaningless? do you agree

Memories allow you to remember a moment that you experience or learn and if you dont have your memory of that moment your knowledge of it no longer exists so i do believe that knowledge without memories are meaningless because its impossible to know something without having a visual memory of it.
