What is the difference between silent mutation and mutation?

silent mutation are cause by a point mutation and have no effect of the function because they code for the same amino acid

mutations is a change that occurs in our DNA sequence, either due to mistakes when the DNA is copied or as the result of environmental factors such as UV light and cigarette smoke (almost like cancer)
