What were the two staples crops of New France?

Wheat and corn or maize were the staples of the region. Wheat, being introduced to the Americas was still a huge portion of the local diet. They ate bread daily and this filled in that need. Maize was still left over from the native population and was already well designed for the climate due to years of growth and adaptation

I believe the staple crops are oats, barley
Staple crops referst to the crops that is eaten routinely in large quantities as the dominant portion of diet within the social group.
The wheather and soil condition in the New France is perfect for these crops to grow.
