A USPS regional destination facility is a central warehouse for distribution of packages. The USPS, along with other postal carriers, use hub and spoke systems, moving items from one location to another through these larger central warehouses, packing things together to move to another. While the Regional Facility might be a step closer to here, it could also be a stop on the way. For instance, moving from LA to NYC, it might hit a regional facility in Philadelphia, and repackaged with shipments from DC, Chicago and Philadelphia before being sent to NYC for distribution to customers.
