P = 2(L + W) ....this is the perimeter of a rectangle
P = 40
L = 5
40 = 2(5 + W)
40 = 10 + 2W
40 - 10 = 2W
30 = 2W
30/2 = W
15 = W <=== ur answer is 15 ft
