Replace the w with it’s value in the equation :

w⒳ = -2x + 1

-7 = -2x + 1

Then, you just simplify the right side in order to isolate the x (always take in consideration your priorities of operation) :

-7 = -2x + 1
÷-2 ÷-2

3.5 = x + 1
-1 -1

2.5 = x ☻
