atomic theory is a model developed to explain the properties and behaviors of atoms. As with any scientific theory, an atomic theory is based on scientific evidence available at any given time and serves to suggest future lines of research about atoms.

Atomic models are important because, they help us visualize the interior of atoms and molecules, and thereby predicting properties of matter. It's just very important for us to learn and know new and current things because we will eventually need a answer for and to everything.
