A particular rock may not always remain the same type. Igneous, metamorphic, and sedimentary rocks are transformed as they pass through the rock cycle. The forces from wind, water, heat, and pressure can transform rocks.
For example, when a sedimentary rock goes through a lot of heat and pressure it will turn into a metamorphic rock.
