You have to probe each function until you find the right one.
1) f(x) = 3x - 1
x f(x) = 3x - 1
-5 3(-5) - 1 = -15 - 1 = - 16 => it is not
2) f(x) = 2x + 1
x f(x) = 2x + 1
-5 2(-5) + 1 = -10 + 1 = - 9 => it is not
3) f(x) = 3x - 6
x f(x) = 3x - 6
-5 3(-5) - 6 = - 15 - 6 = - 21 => it is not
4) f(x) = 2x - 1
x f(x) = 2x - 1
- 5 2(-5) - 1 = -10 - 1 = -11 => point (-5, -11) => right
0 2(0) - 1 = 0 - 1 = - 1 => pont ( 0, - 1) => right
5 2(5) - 1 = 10 - 1 = 9 => point (5, 9) => right
Therefore the answer is the option d. f(x) = 2x - 1
