What is the process in which the blood vessels that supply the heart muscles are narrowed or closed by the gradual buildup of a hard, fatty substance called plaque and inflammation of the vessel walls?

Atherosclerosis is the general term for narrowing and hardening of the arteries due to plaque buildup. When this occurs in the vessels that supply the heart, it is termed coronary artery disease, or coronary heat disease.
