The easiest way to do this is to set them up as equivalent fractions, and to solve for x.


(2)/(5) = (x)/(15)

x=6

To figure this out, we must firstly find the least common denominator (LCD).

5, 10, 15, 20, 25

15, 30, 45

Here the LCD is 15.

We must now take 2 and multiply by the amount of numbers it took to get to 15 on our first line. It was 3 places, therefore we are going to multiply by 3.

2 * 3 = 6.

And there you have it. Here's your answer:

6/15.
