How is gender status different in "matrilocal" societies? (matrilocality—when a couple marries, and go to live in the woman's home village)?

In matrilocal societies, women are viewed as having a high status. This is the opposite of patrilocal societies where the couple lives in or near the home village of the husband's parents. In patrilocal societies, women are viewed as having less importance and a lower status.
