The genetic engineering of broccoli to increase selenium content has lowered the sulforaphane content. Sulforaphane is known as an anti-cancer compound that is found in cruciferous vegetables, most often broccoli. It has very potent antioxidants and has been found to be an anti-inflammatory ingredient. It is simolar to curcumin.
