The area of the brain which has a damage is the reticular[L1] formation. You can find the reticular formation in the brainstem, it is a set of interconnected nuclei. The reticular formation is not anatomically well defined because it includes neurons located in diverse parts of the brain. In medulla oblongata in the lower part to the upper part of midbrain it stretches in the core of the brainstem, neurons of the reticular formation made up of complex set of networks.
